Real change will require either a veto-proof majority in Congress, or a Democratic President.

Real change won't ever have a chance unless we vote in someone who is neither Democrat or Republican.  They're just the same shit, different name.
How much worse could we possibly do with a third party.  It's certainly worth taking the chance.

Not really directed at you Caitlyn...just that your quote made me think of this.

Real change won't happen.

We've been getting chumped since that Bastard Alexander Hamilton.

Fucking Hamilton. Why couldn't he have gotten himself killed 18 years earlier???

I have to toss a coin on a daily basis to see which party disgusts me the most these days.
I am such a moderate, I should just vote for myself.
Neither party seems to give a damn, about the average Joe Citizen.[:'(]

I learned a few things a little while back, that standing up for or believing in a political party or a politician is a recipe for disappointment. That is why I do not place any faith in politicians or parties. You  will rarely see me post a glowing recommendation for either. I half expected this to happen when the election went through. I know a lot of dems are actually hawks purporting to be doves for political gain. This is the real world.....

So who pulls the strings? I am sure that there is a lot of lobbying going on to keep things status quo while they play fast and loose with our people's lives.

I am sorry you feel the way you do, I am still a great advocate of only voting for those who did not vote for the Iraq resolution, and those who voted against this funding bill. Hold them accountable, don't vote for whores who say one thing and do another.... time to clean house again

LightHeartedMaam -> RE: Failed Again (5/26/2007 7:05:57 AM)

I feel the same but I realize also the way bills are crafted with tack-ons.  The minimum wage bill was part of the war funding bill.  If the bill was voted down then you'd have people saying "oh they don''t support the working class!"   They tacked on so much crap that had NOTHING to do with the war issue to that bill that anyone who voted for or against was in a "damned if they do/damned if they don't" situation.  Like, what does the minimum wage issue have to do with it or the price of subsidizing farmers.  I'd keep everything SEPARATE.

I feel like this nation is held hostage in emotional bondage.   I don't know what to think any more. I think I'll go Independent.
