Yup, also expected a MMORPG thread. lol

*flies her geek flag*

As to the original question, I agree with what everyone else is saying.  People either are just curious and let it go farther than they want or they wig-out and realize they werent ready yet.  Either way it's rude not to let the other person know you cant make it.  But some people's parents didnt love them enough to teach them any manners.

Because it is fun.....I once had a sub take the train from Missouri to Chicago to meet me....She called when she arrived at the station and asked why I wasn't there to pick her up?  I informed her that I had some shoes that needed polishing...and that I had run out of black shoe polish and that I was simply to distraught at this moment to deal with anything and that she should go back home...She called me a motherfucker!!!...Some people are so sensitive and rude.

I would have called you a LOT more than that and DONE a lot more than that. You got off easy. Trolls like you make my blood boil, then I take care of yuo, publically. You need to grow up.

You had her travel to you, then you had the gall to stand her up. You are a grade A a**.

I really don't expect any of the on-line fantasy game players to have the courage to answer this since that would mean admitting that they are fake.  My question (just in case I'm wrong) is.... Why do you make dates to meet when you know you have no intention of following through?  It's really getting annoying that I waste my time e-mailing and chatting with someone who isn't real.  I haven't been on here that long this time, but I've already started telling people I don't want to do the on-line thing, lets just meet face-to-face and get to know each other the old fashioned way.  At least that way I weed them out faster.
Maybe they sized you up, found you lacking and decided you weren't worth a phone call. Maybe they found something better to do with their time. All in all, bitching about it doesn't solve anything. And if this is such a reoccurring problem, maybe the problem doesn't lay in the other people you're in contact with.

Wow, this is pretty harsh. Especially considering the skill level of some of the playahs out there. Some people really are out to just have fun at the expense of others and some go so far as to actually set out to deceive for their own pleasure.

I have never found "take everyone jerk's behavior as a reflection on you" to be good advice.

rose - just a small (hopefully helpful) suggestion - maybe read peoples other posts and that assists you to know some of the regular posters before launching negative responses.
Hope that assists(even if not asked for)

Sorry all you MMORPGers.  Didn't mean to lure you in.  I used to play Realm and Lineage but had to give up the on-line games because I just couldn't stay away.  Had to quit cold turky.

Sounds like someone who's playing the game.  Did I hit a nerve?  As hostile as your response is, I'm not surprised you think nothing of such rudeness.

I was hoping the same thing :)

Seriously though some people just like to get their kicks or indulge themselves with a little bit of online fun but would NEVER think about hooking up in RL.  It sucks because it makes some people wary if they are talking to someone that doesn't want to meet right away.  I've had to deal with the backlash when I start talking to someone who starts to worry that I am "fake" if I don't want to meet them the next day BUT I can't blame them for it.

It's discouraging to put yourself out there to someone hoping it will lead to something real only to find out it is just a game for someone that likes to goof around and hide behind their computer :(

You weren't the only one!

Everyone-

We have successfully raided the thread!  At this time, loot will be divided up, DKP prices will be established for drops.  Whisper your assigned class-loot officer and archetype-loot officers for DKP information on Master/Dom/sub/slave-only and male/femal-only items!  (Men- let's not have a repeat of last raid's loot split.  Thongs of Velvety Sexiness are for females only!)  All/all items DKP's will be provided in the raid chat.

Good go everyone, and everyone get rested up for this weekend's raid!

I was hoping it was about world of warcraft too :)

To the Op: The same raeson some people will forever be wanking off to sexual stories and pictures ,,,while others actually "do" the stuff.

Perhaps the "no shows" from the internet actual got a bit caught up in their own fantasy and so appeared to be genuine.

Maybe thier "ping" was too high, and they got booted.

I personally spend a fair amount of time in getting to know about someone before meeting. There are a couple I have moved to phone and have talked with for months, and have not had a face to face with as of yet. Another was met within weeks. Sometimes it happens quick, sometimes not.

Hello all

I am very new to this scene but not to the want or need. I am very subservient and would be to both male and female. That said I guess I would be the real first posted to fall into this category.
I do have one very hard rule… I will not say I will meet someone and then not show up. However I am not ready to jump into a full time relationship. Yes I do get a sexual thrill talking on line with people and will perform for them on a cam. I don’t think this is wrong or dishonest.
I am always honest up front…I tell people I am looking for a relationship but not tomorrow. I am timid and shy…and meeting a powerful person is intimidating to me.
I am not totally… socially…. dysfunctional …I was married and have children and successful in my job. I just must be persuaded by the right person.

I would feel guilty if I ever led anyone on but I DON”T DO THAT…but for now online may be as far as my shyness will allow.

Butch
