fluffypet61 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 3:47:34 PM)

i'm getting rid of all the recipes that i cut out of magazines and newspapers.  They looked good but i never made them.  There is a whole box full of them to go to the recycling bin tonight.

i have a whole bookcase of cookbooks that i never use.  i'll keep them a little longer.

There are only three cookbooks that i actually use frequently.

Any more it seems that i do a search on the internet when i want to find a recipe.

dreamofthemoon -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 4:15:07 PM)

Fluffy, maybe donate the recipes you're not going to use to a cooking school, instead of the recycling bin?  Lol.

On the other hand, though... Mom and i went shopping this morning and i picked up this summer cookbook (which was kinda one of those impulsive must-buy-because-it-looked-interesting-and-i've-been-feeling-like-i-should-be-doing-more-cooking-kinds-of-things-lately, lol, moments).  We'll see if i actually do any cooking, but it looks like it has a few good recipes i'd like to try. [:)]

LundFamily -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 4:37:56 PM)

or fluffy you could make your own recipie book to sell to make money from :D

fluffypet61 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 5:33:06 PM)

Magazine recipes would require permissions to put in a book to sell.

i don't think the cooking school would want them.  They have text books to work from.

LundFamily -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 6:11:25 PM)

true.

I win

BigDaddy723 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 6:16:14 PM)

And actually the books for cooking schools are measured by weights, more accurate that way especally when it comes to high volume.

fluffypet61 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 6:30:57 PM)

Anyway, all cooking school recipes start with a pound of butter and use too much salt.  i can't eat that stuff.

BigDaddy723 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 6:35:00 PM)

You would actualy be suprised, The only time i used large amounts of butter was during me Baking and Classical French cusine Modules. You vould also write a kinky cookbook. Which is actually one of the ideas I am working on sort of...

FelineFae -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 6:37:34 PM)

That makes me think of olde timey recipes, where everything was equal measurements...
All the ingridients for cupcakes were one cup this, one cup that. Same with poundcakes...

fluffypet61 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 6:54:03 PM)

i'm going to make watermelon sorbet again.  This time i'm going to decrease the sugar and use mostly Splenda to make my simple syrup.  The worst part of it is i have to pick out all the seeds.  The so-called seedless watermelon still has seeds - they're just white and smaller.

fluffypet61 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 7:24:37 PM)

When i grow up, i'd like to be Vicki the Biker Chick from the Rose is Rose comic strip.

i used to have a motorcycle years ago, but never the leathers to go with it.

LundFamily -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 8:19:56 PM)

hope the sorbet turns out better this time fluffy.

I win

BigDaddy723 -> RE: Last one to post wins (6/30/2010 10:07:09 PM)

Once you puree the watermelon you can run it thru a strainer to to get the seeds. Also Agave necter is a good sweetener low carb, low on the glycemic index, it is calorie dense but because it is about 40%(if memory serves me correctly) sweeter the sugar you need less. The pic is carrot cake with pineapples, and a carrot cream cheese sorbet sweetened with Agave nectar. And it is the same plant they use to make Tequila so how can you go wrong.
