i went to see the oncologist today at the place i'm going to do my chemo.  But first there are hoops to jump through...
1) watch a 30 minute video about Chemotherapy.
2) give 4( or 5) vials of blood to check for any number of things
3) get a port installed which is a two visit thing. (One to do paperwork - one to do it.)
4) get more lab work for the port surgery.
5) get a CT scan that involves a Barium drink the night before and another 1 hour before the scan
6) get an echocardiogram
7) see the Oncologist again
 
Then start the chemo.
 
Master Richard is coming to be with me for the first chemo treatment.  YAY!

Status: offline 		i am also happy that Master Richard will be there with you, and i must say that i am really like him too for being so awesomely supportive.... i took my mom to every chemo and radiation treatment she had, and it really helps having someone there. The chemo rooms my mom went to were pretty cool, it had super relaxing chair with blankets and personal TVs... i hope the ones you go to are equally relaxing. Good luck tomorrow.

Status: offline 		DC, i'm doing fine - just marking time until all the preliminary stuff gets done..
 
i'm sorry if i made it sound as if this was happening today.  It is all outpatient and spread out over a couple of weeks.  The CT scan and echocardiogram have a 10 day waiting period on them to get "authorization" from the Medicaid insurance.  The port should happen next week.
 
i appreciate all the good thoughts and prayers.  Yes, Master Richard is a great comfort. 
 
On the other hand He is still my Master and using the training, etc., as a way to distract me from my medical issues.  He makes me laugh a lot, as well as, get serious about being His slave.  He sees the medical as only a short term thing and temporary.  He is not letting me hide behind the medical stuff.

As of midnight last night, my part of West Virginia has a total of 99.4 inches of snow since September 1st.
