We are finally permanently empty nest. Our youngest moved out yesterday to live with her b/f. We have been empty nest before when both were away at school but one always came back. This will make it so much easier for us to live our lifestyle, assuming she doesn't pop in unannounced too often. She is only 20 minutes away. Now maybe He will flog harder since i can make noise LOL.

it will only take one unannounced visit before you will be guaranteed a courtesy call in advance

Never say never Proud.  That relationship could break up in a heartbeat.  Right at the wrong time for you as well.

Congrats and I wish you the best of luck at it lasting a good long time.

Congratulations proud! Good for you guys! One piece of advice - move and don't leave a forwarding address!

It better not, she is on the lease and can't afford her share, he pays most of the rent.  We did warn her that could be a problem, we see it on Judge Judy all the time, LOL.  They really do need to get married, so many financial benefits.

Haha.. here's my little Summer Vacation speculation:

Summer vacation originated so farm kids could help with the crops. Let keep this grand tradition alive and make the kids grow their own food for 3 months!! get out the rototiller and garden weasel, kids... you wanna eat, right?

Aww, congrats, Proudsub. =)

The Mister and I have a plan.. sell the kid when the youngest leaves the nest, then downsize all out stuff. We'll rent a tiny 1 bedroom aptso there'd be no room for them if they want to con their way back in, lol.

Okay, that's a lie. =) My kids will be welcome in my house as long as they're paying their share. Or they could work it off. ;)

Fortunately we live in a semi-rural area on some acreage, with a park on one side and neighbors about 100 yds away on the other side.

edited to add--we were in the hot tub one night and apparently making a little noise because the neighbors called the cops thinking there was a prowler in their woods. The cops went up and down their driveway with a search light but couldn't see us.

great idea save for the two demon-beasts...two german shepherds.  but the yard junk that the former owners left IS getting cleared out this summer.  no more mysterious appearing beer bottles, pop top pulltabs, strange bits of metal....i'm TIRED of not being able to walk barefooted back there!

and he's learning how to work a weedeater this year too.  he just doesnt know it yet.

kitten, who has been called eeeeebil mama too many times to count.  ;)
