FatDomDaddy -> Roger Daltrey says "Don't get fooled again!" (5/19/2007 8:36:43 PM)

Ahhh I have always loved Baba O'Riley.

I am so sick of the entertainment community drilling joe and jane six pack on the evils of living in a modern world! Good move Roger, this Gore concert is a major joke!

Keep in mind Daltrey isn't disputing global warming, he just thinks Gore is wasting time (and energy), as does Bob Geldoff.

I read the article.

I do not dispute it either BTW....

But I highly doubt if man has anything to do with it

Didn't Daltry ALSO sing "I HOPE I DIE BEFORE I GET OLD"?

And WHO THE HELL CARES about the Who. They ain't exactly going to headline.

I gave up on them their? What? SIXTH farewell tour?

That's funny, you recently claimed that The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" is the best ringtone ever.

Your opinion of them must depend on your mood, or the weather, or the time of day or something.

Hmm.

Are all of your opinions as fleeting and as unreliable as this one is?

KatyLied -> RE: Roger Daltrey says "Don't get fooled again!" (5/20/2007 8:22:58 AM)

The Who were ruined for me with the Townsend scandal.  I can't move beyond it.
I loved Quadrophenia.

Aileen68 -> RE: Roger Daltrey says "Don't get fooled again!" (5/20/2007 8:24:17 AM)

Baba O' Reilly is the most annoying fucking song.  Ever.

I think that has the makings for another thread, but I'd have to disagree with you. I don't know what the most annoying song ever would be, and I'd even have to think long and hard before offering up my own candidates for that title, but I really don't think Baba O' Reilly is it...

More annoying? Hmm, there's the Crazy Frog song, right off the top of my head, anything by Abba or the Dixie Hicks... just to start

What does appreciating their work have to do with their viability as a live performance?

They *DID* some very respectable work, but today, they're a joke, and not worth either the money to hire, or the money to see perform. Like the Stones. A pathetic waste of everyone's time, whose corpse is only kept animated by the efforts of marketing and promotion.

Sorta like Ozzy.

No one's saying he didn't do GREAT WORK.

Watching him try to haul his ass from one side of the stage to the other is just fucking pathetic.

I don't think that bleeding hearts and artists think straight most of the time anyway. One second some huge Hollywood star is bashing the President, the next they're hauling the scumbag actor off to jail for some heinous crime...

It is funny to see you turn on a dime when it comes to liking The Who though. Great spin, too, after I pointed your inconsistency out. So far as Ozzy goes, I never did like him. He sounds like a big fat Mama's boy, especially in that "Mama I'm coming home" song. Maybe THAT'S the worst song ever... I'm still thinking about that, trying to decide

"It is funny to see you turn on a dime when it comes to liking The Who though."

How so? They're OVER, and suck live, and the one-minute synth intro of baba-o-riley (1971 - 35 years ago... ) is the worlds best ringtone. ( Which, BTW was copped FROM TERRY O'RILEY, but he didn't mind. )

I don't see how the two facts are exclusive in any way.

What do you think about the concert fargle

I am a Who fan, I scored Quadraphenia at a yard sale for a buck the other day. Both disc and boy did it sound great, been a while for that one. Their last album Endless Wire is actually pretty decent, not the vintage Who sound, but real decent. The DVD it came with sucked it was recent live footage of Who classics, that was mixed real low, to where you had to crank your system all the way up almost to hear it.

It's so wonderful how someone can post an article where everyone in the article admits to "global warming"....They just don't believe there is much we can do about it.....Then the op comes back since he might not have read the article.... to say that he doesn't believe that "we" are responsible for any of it.

Again this is a case of despising the messenger so much that you cannot even begin to comprehend the message.....Rather sad but entirely predictable,

Then, what was your point?

Are you trying to say that since they're old, so their opinion isn't worth anything? Or wtf are you talking about.
