The Who were ruined for me with the Townsend scandal. I can't move beyond it. I loved Quadrophenia.

They DID some very respectable work, but today, they're a joke, and not worth either the money to hire, or the money to see perform. Like the Stones. They're OVER, and suck live, and the one-minute synth intro of baba-o-riley (1971 - 35 years ago... ) is the worlds best ringtone. ( Which, BTW was copped FROM TERRY O'RILEY, but he didn't mind. ) I don't see how the two facts are exclusive in any way.

It was -- Meh. NEAR AS I CAN RECALL ( Without going into the ticket-stub collection... The Who Mon, 18 November 1996: Albany, NY, Knickerbocker Arena Setlist I Am The Sea, The Real Me, Quadrophenia, Cut My Hair, The Punk And The Godfather, I'm One, The Dirty Jobs, Helpless Dancer, Is It In My Head, I've Had Enough, 5.15, Sea And Sand, Drowned, Bell Boy, Doctor Jimmy, The Rock, Love Reign O'er Me, I'm The Face, Won't Get Fooled Again, Behind Blue Eyes, Who Are You At the time, it was better than what was on tv that night. Today? Wouldn't be worth the hassle getting into the arena, or paying the outrageous prices. And I've seen the Live-8 stuff from 2 years ago. Meh.

I am a Who fan, I scored Quadraphenia at a yard sale for a buck the other day. Both disc and boy did it sound great, been a while for that one. Their last album Endless Wire is actually pretty decent, not the vintage Who sound, but real decent. The DVD it came with sucked it was recent live footage of Who classics, that was mixed real low, to where you had to crank your system all the way up almost to hear it.

It's so wonderful how someone can post an article where everyone in the article admits to "global warming"....They just don't believe there is much we can do about it.....Then the op comes back since he might not have read the article.... to say that he doesn't believe that "we" are responsible for any of it.
