Can you guess which person named in this story is the son of Arizona's Senate President, Ken Bennett?

Essay Question: Why did the "Arizona Republic" not see fit to mention that this criminal is the son of a leader of the effort to ban equal rights for same-sex couples in the state, a man who claims to view same-sex relationships as immoral?

For extra credit, guess how much jail time Jr. got for the serial molestation of several boys he was in a position of authority over.

Do some googling. If you can read a few stories about what happened at that camp and how the conservative power elite protected their own at the expense of justice for innocent children--and you can do so without becoming nauseated--you fail the test.

Noah,

I have thanked you before for your posts and
have frequently enjoyed them.  This one I have
mixed emotions about.  But it is better all in all
to be aware than to be ignorant.  Thank you.

Even though I did pass the test.

Maybe if Republican politicians and their offspring let interns give them blowjobs, they would stop trying to bugger juvenile boys.

Just sayin...

Good evening, Noah.

From the article: "Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk said Tuesday that the media have misrepresented the case, which she described as a hazing ritual."

What school did she attend, the same one the dip that handled the Duke lacrosse case went to?

It stinks, the way that money ill-spent and power misused make things stink.....

KeirasSecret -> RE: Here's a test: (5/19/2007 7:39:18 PM)

While it is obvious to me why certain people would want to keep said information unpublicized, the reasons a news paper would do so are unclear; perhaps owned by a relative, or paid off.

I would not doubt that said cover up might have something to do with Mr. Bennett’s position on same-sex couples, but I would find it disturbing, especially if that were the only reason. I do not believe sexual assault on someone of the same sex is even remotely in the same ball park as same-sex couples. I am fairly confident that if the assault had been preformed on a female, it still would have been handled in the same manner. I could be wrong.

I will not bother with guessing time of sentence, as I am sure it is not enough. I do hope that there will be psychiatric help provided before release. It is my experience that people who commit such acts are not mentally healthy.

Also, it has been my experience that those who commit such acts, were, more often then not, assaulted by someone at some point in their life, so if that is the case here; I hope said person is also caught; right on down the line.

I’m good with the extra credit.

I just went to the AZ Republic site and asked that very question in their comments forum.

They took your comment down. I registered to read it and they said:

Although there was a message there when I first clicked on the story... I think they scrubbed it off.

Talk about fuckedup. The information censored was inherently public.

Wonder how long it will take them to remove the link, below, to the same information.

How about this quote, Noah?

"After his son's admission, according to Friday's edition of The Abrams Report, Bennett wrote a letter to the D.A. handling the case informing her that his son could not rightfully serve time in jail, because he is prepared to leave the country on a mission - to teach the word of Christ to youth around the world."

Someone better teach the lad that the word of Christ doesn't include buggery or abuse.....

Anyway, I bookmarked it, and intend on sending a plea for sanity to his dad..... good luck with that, huh?

Wait, Wait... He SHOULDN'T be in custody because he's PLANNING on fleeing the country????

Here's a link to MSNBC's Abrams Report. Go about halfway down, and that's where they pick up the story on Bennett.
