Popeye that was one I didn't know about, he has been a real liar all these years. No wonder this country is down the tubes. Remember MARY JO KOPECHNE? Teddy got away with that and they re-elected him then and they do it now.

That change will occur is a certainty; that whites will cease to be a majority in the US (after a great deal of time) is a certainty. So what? i visited Miami/Dade County many times on business. 80% of the population is non-white, with Cubans leading the pack. i found every English speaking person who resided there had mastered at least a smattering of Spanish, and vis versa. i have had and continue to have many F/friends who are P/pl of color, and IMO the country would be a much better place if there were many others just like T/them.

Lest i remind you all that the forefathers of this country viewed this place as an experiment subject to and respondant to change. America is already on its second constitution (they decided to make the second draft somewhat flexible via overwhelming impart of three branches). This country was founded by people that had a die-hard conviction to dissention and a fervent realization in growth and integration of acceptance to enforce advancement of a society without a lord supreme. Isn't a major reason for concern if we allow the illegals to become citizens, there is an exorbinant increase in social costs for Medicare, and Medicaid. That is what i have seen on the news. That should be a major concern as many feel it will be bankrupt without this. minnetar

First we hear that the illegals are taking all the low paying jobs. Which means that uneducated, untalented and unskilled citizens can't get a low wage job. thompson, i think their latest concern is adding them to Medicare and to retirement programs. i saw some astronimical figure it would add to these programs if they were be allowed to be seen as citizens. i hope i worded that correctly and wasn't rude. minnetar

My understanding is that Medicare is for the economically challenged. If that is the case then it seems a stretch to assume that all of the immigrants who come here will be economically challenged from cradle to grave. After all the premise is that they are coming here to gain economic largess. It is only the bigots who rant on about how the immigrants will suck the system dry. thompson
