General response ... To me, this is just a chill pill situation where you need to stop feeling singled out and remember that these rules are put in place for a reason. Puella pointed out the spread of dandelions, which is a genuine concern. We had this neighbor two winters ago, plant fescue grass in his yard over the winter, which is against our homeowners association. Nobody really said anything, and over the winter, his yard looked pretty nice. Part of our yard looked nice too, because all his seed blew all over our yard. When the weather started getting hot, the fescue, which had taken over our grass, all died. More than half our front yard and about a third of the back was dead. It cost twenty pallets of grass at $150 a pallet, and about a thousand dollars in labor, to get the lawn back in shape ... not to mention the fines for using too much water. Funny, our neighbor never offered to pay the 5K he caused in damage to our lawn.
