It had been a long time since I had last walked the halls of the particular chat forum that I logged onto three days ago but even though it had been nearly a year I was not prepared for what awaited me.

Within a very short time I discovered that two people that I knew very well had passed over.
One was only a few months older than I am. He was in what appeared to be excellent health, there were no warning signs, and no one suspected anything. However, at the age of 45 he died of a massive heart attack. He was alone at the time.

The other had been ill for a long time and the last 24 hours of his life he spent online talking to all of those he knew. He spoke to them for hours. Many said it was as if he was saying goodbye. He died of Congestive Heart Failure.

Over the next couple of days I heard of other deaths of people that I did not know of. One of a submissive that made the mistake of meeting someone that she did not thoroughly checkout first. He hung her upside down and beat her to death with a baseball bat. She was 46 and beautiful... She had only gone to meet him for coffee. He did get caught and is in jail awaiting trial.

Life is short, we need to love those we care for and be kind to those we know for we are not promised tomorrow.

not to minimize the tragedy of these  stories RobertCloud, but this is online. I too have found out that people that i considered friends had died which was very difficult ...even more so when i found out they were alive and had sone it for attention. Always be wary and take the interactions that you have online carefully. I am not saying that all people are attention seeking fakes....but there are several. Just be careful how much energy you are expending there.

i agree astarri, i can't tell you how many people i was aquainted with from a chat forum i used to go to who had terminal cancer... and years later they have miraculously recovered. One even said she was in a hospital, dying, and they allowed her to have an internet hookup to chat. i don't know about anyone else, as much as i enjoy my online activities i think the last thing i would wan to do from my death bed is go online and chat. Some have put up web pages about their deceased dom or sub only to find out it was all a hoax.  i find it all rather sad.

While there are indeed fakers, I have to echo what Robert said...... "Life is short, we need to love those we care for and be kind to those we know for we are not promised tomorrow. "

For some, being online is the only social life they have, for whatever reason.... so, a person like that would spend the last hours where they felt cared about, I believe.

And yes, it's terrible and sad when someone fakes their death in any way.

I have had friends that passed away online. I knew them well enough that I either found their obit, or someone else that knew them well did.

I would be interested in the baseball bat death if you could confirm it with a headline from a local paper... murders usually end up there unless you are talking NY or LA

If I was on my "last leggs" I'd be out robbing banks!
I'd do 5 or 6 of them and really live it up. What would they do if they caught me, put me in jail?
And then there's some people who "never" seem to die!
Look at Ted Kennedy, his liver and brain are pickled from decades of drinking and he's 75.

I wonder if she spilled some coffee on her date?....Although hanging someone upside down and beating them to death with a baseball bat initially stuck me as being rather extreme and perhaps going a tad bit overboard...But you know that coffee can be really hot!!!...And also kind of expensive...Have you seen what Starbucks is charging for one of those silly frilly coffee drinks of late?....I'm not saying that I would kill her for knocking over my coffee drink, but there would be some rather stiff repercussions.
