Sirandlittle1 -> fellow pyros? (5/12/2007 9:09:43 PM)

A few years ago, i saw some fire play. And knew, that somehow, i was going to get me some.
This is why.

Well, despite searching, i never found a single fellow pyro fan. Not to play with, not even to watch.
Then thousand of miles later, and many years. I have found a new way to play with fire. In that of fire poi. For those of you that have not seen. Here is one of the best videos' ive seen. (not bdsm)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCcLZUT81Lw&mode=related&search=

and my love of it begins anew. I have spent the past two years, learning this art. Hours of practice have given me a rudimentry level of skill. and a lovely way for a upper body workout too!
Poi = toned arms and abs if you practice enough.

Fire stimulates all of my senses:
Sight: who doesnt like staring at flames (controlled flames of course). That you can change the colour of those flames using simple chemistry is soooo neat! It lights up the persons body wonderfully too.
Sound: Flames have a sound. Its rather scary. I love it.
Touch: i love the head fuck, from setting someone on fire, with say 70% alcohol, and watching the panic. . Although i know full well, that the flame will not hurt, i still flinch instinctively. As does he.
For me, the sound of fire, is amazing. and using that fear to headfuck someone is a neat neat trick! Be it on a torch held a little too close for comfort, or a poi being danced with. They roar as it crackles in the wind has the same effect on me that lightening storms have. I feel electrified, alive, buzzing.
Smell? well, there's the disgusting aroma of singed body hair i guess, but other than that, it doesnt bring a lot to the table really.
I saw a street performer whilst out with Sir, he had fire. I asked where he'd bought his fuel/tools and he pointed me to a local shop id never noticed before. From that shop, came a invite to meet with others that practice down by the river after dark on thurs. I went along. There is a fire tricks forum that many of the members belong to who go to the park. From that forum, ive now met on line a woman, who like me is a fan. And like me, is also a sub. We are hoping to meet up at a munch being held next saturday. This will be my first opportunity to ever meet anyone, who plays with fire to bdsm means. I cant wait!.
Do others share this love of fire here?
Please share if you do.

Fire play and also a spinner here. I've just started to spin fire, but I've been spinning off and on for a few years.

May I ask ... what is "spinning" in reference to fire? [image]http://www.collarchat.com/upfiles/smiley/confused.gif[/image]  I  have never heard of it ... does sound interesting ... and exciting! [:)]

I was wondering that too.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: fellow pyros? (5/12/2007 10:34:23 PM)

I spin (twirl) poi, thus I'm a "spinner". I don't yet use the poi as fire play in a scene, but I have a friend who does and I will as well when I feel confident enough. In the mean time, I'm happy with my other fire play methods. ;-)

I wish...

I am a fire voyeur, but for some reason can't get past my fear of turning into a little piece of spanklette bacon.

I've really enjoyed and learned a lot from the workshops that I've seen, but I think it'll be a while until I'm brave enough.[:(]

There is a link in the op to a demo video of spinning.

Here's an example of freestyle firespinning.  I've watched it three times in a row since finding it about ten minutes ago.  Freaking amazing sequence of turns at 0:37

Oh I love fire play.  I don't spin....oh how I wish...but enjoy BDSM fire play with flash cotton, alcohol, violet wands, actual flames....yummy yummy!

Two of my sons spin poi. The elder one does so with fire-poi, too. He wears leather greaves to protect his forearms for the parts where he *bounces* them. I've tried it and I'm useless at it, but I really enjoy watching my boys. It's quite impressive and always draws a crowd wherever they are.

I'm a pyro.  When I was a kid, we used to pour alcohol on ourselves and set it on fire.  It was one of those things we'd all have to do to prove how macho we were.  Being the only girl in the group, and the youngest, I had a lot to prove.

As a grown up, I haven't done fire play, but...I wanna! :)

{pyro here as well}

Riz is one of the best... I've watched the man for years & his style never ceases to amaze me.

When I was in the Tampa area there was a group that met for demos & instruction... would have to check to see if there is still such a group meeting.

Just did a fireplay class here in Atlanta this past Friday. Love Fireplay have also done a bit of performance Fire Breathing and eating. I actually incorporat Fire Eating into my Fireplay with Elegant. It's tough to eat fire from a fear aspect the first few times but it's even more frightening when you are not the one holding the torch.
