THere are some rules to being a dom I have heard. I am exploring right now, identifing as a switch, and I am courious as to how one 'becomes' a dom. I am looking for someone to tell me the basic rules of being a dom, as well as how to behave as a dom. I dont have the additude, that I have heard comes from self confidence in what one is doing, and hat is what I am here looking for.

Looking for information, looking for reference, looking to see if your feelings and drives have an outlet? You can find that. Confidence? That's self induced, and found by applying in real life the information you find here and in other places. The most important thing you can find here is a local group and place where you can see and maybe experience what right now, is fantasy. Find someone in your community that you like what they do as a Dominant, listen to them talk about it, ask questions and see what you can arrange as far as apprentice time with them. Work with thyem on that basis for awhile and you'll likely find the confidence you desire through that. Nothing builds confidence like doing something successfully. The apprenticship relatinshiop allows you to learn the basic skills and find out what you need to read/study/ develope mentally according to someone who you already like the way they view D/s and SM. Once you reach a certain level of understanding you'll be ready to move out on your own and you'll have an idea of what else you want to read/study/... to become the Dominant you dream of becomming. (which is what we all are really doing anyway trying to become as good as we dream we are in our fantasies). In Leather Archer Of course some will poo poo the idea of apprenticing because too many people misuse the format, just as they misuse the "mentor" format. Your missio should you choose to accept it is to find someone who will not misuse the format, of course since you are looking for a role model to pattern yourself after One would hope you are going to do the search right.
