May also depend on the age of your computer and the size of your ram....... It sounds like you have programs running in the background which will take up virtual memory. Last resort, back uip all files you need and reformat the hard drive several times to scrub nearly all the stuff off and than re load programsn I'd install a couple of antu spyware programs and have them run twice daily along with an anti virus scan....
