Pony training really does take hands on experience. There are a lot of pony groups in the country. The best way is to get associated with one and study how the training takes place. You might also go to some "human pony shows" and talk with the participants. Keep in mind the accessories to pony play can be very very expensive.

"what is the best way to learn to be a good Honky". How can anyone answer that ?
What does "good" mean to you?

Ask a thousand subs what a good dom is and you'll likely get a thousand good answers.

I don't mean to be a smart ass but your question as you have asked it is almost impossible to answer.

Use common sense first off. Are you already a Dominant personality or do you also want to alter your personality?
If you are Dominant, ask questions amongst lifestyle groups, read and trust many of your instincts.
If you want to become Dominant, practice by telling yourself what to do in the mirror and buy a wardrobe of black. This may take lots of time, before you actually feel Dominant, so be patient.

I can't help you on the Pony Girl Training, that's out of my league, however I always wanted one as a child.....and that's no manure!

I'm saying if you asked 100 subs, you'd get 5 good answers. I'm sure most of the subs are CAPABLE of giving good answers, but that's not what you would get at first. And I think at least a few of the good answers would be repeated a lot.

So maybe 100 would give good answers, 600 capable of giving good answers, and only 5 really worthwhile answers total would come of it.

Judgemental little snert, aren't I?

you miss one other considerations... that those specific answer might only be good for the particular Dom asking the question. another may find more or less depending on what one is looking for and would consider a good answer.

As a Dom I would have to say, "Follow your heart". Read, ask questions of the people who ARE good Doms and do what your heart tells you is right. Don't follow trends or bad advice but be true to yourself. If you are going to be a good Dom then it will come. Don't rush it and DON'T FAKE IT!

Remember that you will always learn more with your mouth shut and your ears open than vice versa.

Read widely, Go to munches, listen and ask questions, go to play parties and watch. With a little luck you may hook up with one or two good Masters who are willing to mentor you at leasts in the basics. When you are talking to people, dont forget to talk to sub/slaves as well.

Know thyself. Are you dominant? I generally believe more in the inherent proclivity, rather than the academic goosestep. Beware of the trappings and rote nature of the mainstream BDSM world; much of it is mind-numbing. As for texts and literary resources on-line, they can help put finer points on things, if you already have the natural starting structures.

If you have not already joined any local BDSM organizations, please do do. Attend their meetings, demos, lectures, group discussions. Go to their social gatherings--lunches, dinners, parties. Meet other Dom-ly types and talk with them. Fraternize with the subs and slaves. It is the best way to learn more about this lifestyle, but dont forget to read a few good books on the subject, too. Take care and have fun!
